This has to be one of my own personal favorites from my New York City collection. And, this exact shot is now impossible to do over again since September 11, 2012 was the last year One World Trade (Freedom Tower) had it's work lights changed to Red, White And Blue. What is there now are simple white LED lights of some sort. This photo went on to a LOAN collection from PPA the following year, and despite any recognition it got, I always find myself looking at it with fresh eyes, and a renewed spirit. There we were, in a long night between yesterday and tomorrow, the ancient relics of our most iconic city being adorned with majestic new skyscrapers of the future (which One WTC and the others certainly are), and the spirit of those we lost reaching into the heavens thanks to the annual beams of light tribute. I really can not say much more, except this is a testament to knowing who we are as a race of beings, seeing what we have done in the past and what we are capable of today and in the future.
