A beautiful day for a hike and not much can beat this view. :)
The “Hole in the Wall" is a unique hole in the wall of a rock barrier from an obsolete water reservoir connection, not in use since 1967. It is off the highway just before you get to Port Alberni on Vancouver Island.
When Port Alberni was just a settlement it was decided to bring in a freshwater pipeline to service the needs of the people. The pipeline, which was made of yellow cedar wrapped in wire, came to a rock barrier and a hole had to be drilled through it to let the pipeline continue it’s way to the settlement. And if you are observant, a bit of the pipeline can still be seen. (unfortunately I didn't know this when I was there).

Hey, I’m currently living in Port Alberni. It was super cool to randomly come across this shot. You’ve got some great photos!

It was. A nice hike on a beautiful warm day and a dip in the wonderful waterfall. Thanks.
