Raging River in Glacier National Park, Montana

Glacier National Park near Kalispell, Montana is absolutely gorgeous and well worth the hair raising, nerve fraying experience driving on the Road to the Sun! I saw people taking pictures, reading, etc. coming from the visitor's center at Logan's Pass when I was driving to it. If you have ever been on this road, you will agree it is extremely narrow with low overhangs of huge boulders and very many curves. Having said that, it is a trip you cannot pass up. Fortunately, where I took this image, there was a mini parking lot so visitors could get out and enjoy the beautiful roaring sounds and vivid colors of the river that runs through the park. I was so fortunate to be able to go to Glacier National Park at all because the week before I went, the Road to the Sun had just been opened and the end of my visit was the beginning of a horrible fire that closed the park, destroyed buildings and sadly probably killed hundreds of wildlife. I don't know if people died. When I look at my pictures from this trip, it truly became a once-in-a-lifetime experience because of the fire.
