The roots of this tree come from the branches of the tree and "walk" and root themselves where they reach the ground... The main trunk of the tree is to the right of the photo... the rest are roots which come out of the branches. Located in the Botanical Gardens in Port of Spain, Trinidad, this tree was over 100 years old. Sadly it was cut down about two years after I took the photo.
