Hand held shot of one of my most dramatic and memorable wildlife experiences. This photo is of a bald eagle hunting ducklings at sunset. My wife and I watched for quite some time as it dove after a mallard duck and her ducklings over and over. The eagle gave up after about 15 mins as the babies were very young but experienced enough to know when to dive under the water. With each dive bomb of the eagle, the mother duck would let out a warning call and then she and all her babies would quickly dive under the surface of the lake just in time to avoid being caught. @ Deer Lake, Burnaby, British Columbia , Canada
