The 25th of april marks a very important day for Italians, Liberation Day : every village or city holds public speeches with authorities and invites old partisans to keep alive the memory of those who fought against fascists and nazis.To add to the celebrations, every local band plays war songs, like " Bella ciao" ; the "Alpini" ( italian Alpine troops )follow the band in the parade , and stop by the homes where killed partisans used to live , to deliver a funeral wreath. It is a moving ceremony.

Hi. That is very interesting. I was born and raised in The Netherlands and we were nazi occupied as you will know. Our Liberation and Remembrance is May 5th.
