The story goes, that a man, part of a county crew doing some road excavation way up there, was left to spend the night by himself. it was Friday, and they were to quit early for the weekend. when he realized that he had been had, he simply crawled back on his bulldozer, lowered the blade, and came down the mountain. I don't know but it explains that straight road down, which is still used today!
