Kenda, our Belgian Malinois rescue, discovered she loves to sit on the top step of the swimming pool when she first came home. Later, she discovered she loves the pool and we couldn't keep her out of it. At least it slows her down for a few minutes.

Thank you. This shot was taken in May, 2021, shortly after we brought Kenda home from the dog pound. This was her first exposure to the swimming pool, and she didn't know what to make of it. She figured that out pretty quickly, then I had to teach her how to swim and how to find the steps to climb out. That did it: all summer long, she dove for her ball and swam around like she was born to it. It has been good for her and a great source of entertainment for us.

Thank you. This was taken on her first day in the pool, and she just sat on the steps looking around. A little while later while walking around the pool, she cut a corner and fell in. I fished her out, then took her into the pool and taught her how to swim and how to get out of the pool on her own. Malinois are very smart, and within 5 minutes she was swimming like a fish and leaping in after her ball.
