When I went on a glacier walk tour during my March 2018 trip to Iceland, I went prepared for the cold - weather resistant coat, wool sweater under that, wool hat, gloves, scarf, and snow pants. I was not prepared. Yes, we were on ice, but the sun was shining and there was little wind and so no wind chill. I got so hot I could barely stand it. So I took off the helmet they made us wear for safety so I could take off my woolen hat, and I took off the woolen sweater I had under my coat, and left my coat partially unzipped after putting it back on. I even kind of wished I had been less prepared and just gone in jeans instead of my snow pants.
