Pictured on the day before it made its first run in 2016 from King's Cross to York following its multi-million pound refit. I had discovered that Flying Scotsman had been undergoing tests near Scarborough and had to travel from there to King's Cross the day before it made its first run. Some research identified the approximate times on the East Coast Main Line, so my wife and I found an appropriate spot next to a level crossing to take the pictures. Only one other person was present. The following day, on its inaugural run, there were thousands of people at the spot!
