Do you think animals have emotions?
The Japanese macaque (Macaca fuscata) are also known as "snow monkeys" because they are the most northern (also the coldest climate) living primate besides us. They are commonly found in areas where snow covers the ground for many months each year.
They are very intelligent, many behaviour studies have been made on them and cultural learning passed through generations (something we tend to be so proud of) has been observed multiple times. Besides being grade A students, they display many other interesting behaviours. For example, worldwide famous social bathing in hot springs and rolling snowballs for fun. One of the recent studies has also identified different accents in communication calls between groups separated by just a couple of hundred miles. I think that the imaginary ego motivated line that we have drawn into the sand between "us (humans)" vs. "them (animals)" is getting more and more blurred. And rightfully so.
