Beautiful shot. Amazing how beautiful that park looks. I hope you post a photo when the red flowers are blooming.

Behind The Lens

Location

Hitachi seaside park in Japan.

Time

Late morning

Lighting

Not really. Just natural light from a sun.

Equipment

Tripod, Tamron 24-70, ND filter, Canon 6D

Inspiration

I was aware of this location and envisioning this photo for years. It finally happened on my travel to Japan in 2018.

Editing

Yes. Those hills are full of people on a normal day. So I used ND filter and long exposure to average them out at least a bit. That was not enough so I started to take a sequence of dozens of photos which I combined in PS to finally remove all the people. I also substituted the sky since it was clear and boring, removed a couple of distracting elements and covered a couple of holes in flower carpet.

In my camera bag

Canon 6d, Nikon Z6, Tamron 24-70, Nikon 24-70 f4 Z, tripod, flash, remotes, video lights, Parrot Anafi drone, ...

Feedback

Check blooming dates and be early. If possible even arrange private access, since no matter how early you are, there will still be a lot of people in the park.
