Black Snake Millipede

This year I will be very focusing on capturing Macro images. I neglected this subject a little last season with much regret, although the few images i captured have served me well.

This is a Black Snake Millipede I found tucked away under some leaves, I composed the shot using the spiral shape, very common in nature, allowing depth of field and highlights to draw attention to the eye of this cool mini beast.

Black and white further enhances the impact of light and form, the many colours in the picture merely added clutter.

I did not move or agitate this bug, I hate hearing stories of photographers trapping, cooling and even trapping insects on little islands, surrounding them with water JUST for a picture. If you have to resort to such measures then you are in the wrong game and have no regard for the well being of your subject.
