Thank you to all the photographers that shared their awesome photos in the photo contest. The contest is centered around the new FuelBook "Street Photography: A Guide to Finding and Capturing Authentic Portraits and Streetscapes". A big thank you to Peachpit for putting together an awesome set of prize bundles and to guest judge John Batdorff, John is author of "Street Photography: A Guide to Finding and Capturing Authentic Portraits and Streetscapes". John is an award-winning landscape and travel photographer who splits his time between Chicago and Montana. His work has been featured in the National Museum of Wildlife Art in Jackson Hole.

Here are some of  judge's John Batdorff  favorite tips for improving your street photography:

1. Get out and shoot. The dirty secret is we get better at this art by doing more of it. Rain, snow, or sun, cold, warm, or hot, day or night, get out there and get shots. None of the winners' images were taken on a perfect sunny day. You have to get out and take photos at different times to get interesting perspective.

2. Go alone. Street photography is not a team sport. You have to be able to move quickly and fly under the radar to get great candid street shots.

3. Get to know your gear and be prepared. You don't want to miss shots because you're fumbling with settings. Set up your camera so that you can take a properly exposed shot in seconds, and know how to change your settings quickly if the lighting or situation changes.

Congratulations Grand Jury Winner "Munich Street" by nicken

"I love the feel of this image and how the bend in the street carries your eye through the frame. The timing of the passing through the archway was perfect. What I love most about this image is it's exposed perfectly, and it's not over processed. It truly feels like a classic street photography image." - John Batdorff

"This image is very unique, and the lighting perfectly lit the subject's face. The rain adds a moody pensive feel to this gritty image." -John Batdorff
