Unique Landscapes Photo Contest Winners

A special thanks to friend and professional photographer Jack Graham for his collaboration as a guest judge. Jack Graham is a professional photographer with over 23 years of experience, currently leading photo workshops throughout the United States as well as Iceland, Greenland and Canada. He has been published in several popular magazines as well as selling stock photography and Corporate work. He has written three successful eBooks. Jack is a member of the Board of Directors of NANPA (North American Nature Photographers Association) and was named as an "X" Photographer by the Fuji Corporation. Jack resides near Seattle, Washington, in the heart of the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

"What a great foreground that tells us where the photographer is and what it’s like being there. The light is superbly controlled. I love the back lit wheat bowing in the wind. Yes, we know its Tuscany but this is a very different looking image from an iconic part of the world. The combination of story, exposure, composition and feeling makes this my grand Prize Winner." - Jack Graham

"This was my second favorite image. Having a rainbow and lightning at once I perhaps a once in a life time experience, at least for me. The image well exposed and timed perfectly. Rainbows and lightning are both tough enough to photography correctly. Nailing both is an amazing accomplishment. I love that the end of the rainbow is tight over another saguaro and that the image is so well balanced (saguaro, lightning and rainbow). Great Job!" - Jack Graham

"I really love the long exposure effect here. This again is a simple image, but well done. I love the sun is centered on the horizon line way about the center of the image. The subject is certainly well defined and the image si properly balanced. The light is powerful but not overdone. Had there been 4 pylons here this would not have worked as well. Having an odd number (5) makes this just perfect. Great job." - Jack Graham

"This is just a very peaceful, uncomplicated image with a great foreground and a nice line leading my eye to the sunset. It is well balanced by the rocks on each side. Sometimes simplicity is the best way to photograph." - Jack Graham
