ViewBug community member Hanny-Honeymoon started with a blog and tried his best to shoot some selfies. Drawing has been his hobby for about 10 years, but at this point he's been shooting for over 4 years and having so much fun that he started to save some money for better equipment.

Tell us a bit about yourself, how do you describe your photography style?
I’m more introverted and live in my own world. I’m always daydreaming and lost in new ideas and stories. That’s why my photography style is more on the fantasy side. I would describe it as "fantasy fashion". I work with designers who create big and creative outfits, which fits my style perfectly!

In one sentence what has photography done for you in your life?
Photography helped me get connected with people.

When did you start taking photos and what inspired you to get started?
I started with a blog and tried my best to create some selfies. My main hobby was drawing for about 10 years, but at this point I’m having so much fun that I started to save some money for better equipment. I’ve been a photographer over 4 years now.

What has been your favorite shoot and why?
I guess the photo shoots in big locations like castles are my favorite! I can't believe how beautiful the wall paintings are and that I have the opportunity to photograph in such amazing places.

Do you remember a difficult photo shoot session? What happened?
Yes, a few actually! It's always difficult when it comes to timing. One time, shortly after we started shooting, it started to rain a lot. Luckily we had already two amazing photos in the camera!
Another time, we rented a location but it turned out that the time slot we booked was no longer available as we planned, so we had to rush the photo shoot.

What do you carry in your camera bag?
A Canon 5D Mark II, Canon 50mm 1.4, Sigma 85mm 1.4, Canon 135mm 2.0, Canon 70-200 2.8, Trigger and receiver, Canon Speedlight 430 EXII, Batteries in all formats, plastic bags, and first aid (you never know).

Do you have a favorite location and time of the day to shoot?
I love to shoot outdoors with flowers right before the sunset.

Can you share three tips with your fellow photographers?
1. Learn about color theory and anatomy. My drawing skills helped me learn everything faster. I also believe that colors are very important!
2. Connect with new people with different hobbies. You can learn a lot from others and maybe even work together.
3. Don’t compare yourself with other photographers but learn from them. Try to think out of the box and you will find your own style faster.

Please share one of your favorite photos with us with a short tutorial:
a. Where did you take it
I took it outdoor on the side of a wide field. I choose this photo because it proves that you don't have to have a big setup to capture an amazing shot. This white blooming bush wasn't that big but with the right angle it filled the frame nicely.

b. Time of the day and lighting details
It was after 6 pm summer time, the sun was gone behind thick clouds, and the weather was pretty stormy. I used a small external flash and a 70' softbox.

c. Equipment used
I used my Canon 5D Mark II and a Canon 135 2.0mm.

d. Inspiration behind this photo
My friend Jumeria who is also the model in this photo finished the outfit she is wearing in the photo a few day’s before the photo shoot. I had the pleasure to shot this amazing outfit with the cool white bushes in the background which I saw when I was driving to my friend’s house. It was pretty spontaneous and these type of photo shoots often come out pretty cool, especially when you work more freely.

e. Post-processing information
F7 and 1/160 a second.
