Thank you to all the photographers that shared their photos showing a composition with multiple layers in this photo contest made possible by our friends at Good Light! Mag. Good Light! Magazine shows you how to use simple and reliable lighting setups in order to return from your shoot with awesome photographs. It features videos with tips and tricks.

A special thanks to friend and professional photographer Michael Zelbel for his collaboration as a guest judge. Michael Zelbel is an amateur photographer operating a photo studio in Duesseldorf. On his photography blog SmokingStrobes.com and in his eBook The Art of Boudoir Photography he shows lighting setups enabling amateurs to shoot professional glamour and boudoir photos. Besides that he is the main tutor in his photographer coaching club ProPortfolioClub.com and he publishes the quarterly Good Light! Magazine for photography.

Congratualations Runner Up  "New born" by anteamrela

"This photo is a brilliant lesson in spectacular simplicity. What that means is that foreground and background are very plain and simple. There is the really blurry green in the background are plain and then there are the leaves in the foreground, which leave just a bit of space for the star of the photo. Hiding behind the branch we see only a tiny bit of the model: her big, wide open eyes, her hair, a bit of shoulder, a few fingers. It’s just enough to tell from her expression and the situation, that something big has caught her rather shy attention. The rest is left to the phantasy of the viewer, which is certainly started by the hints that this photo masterfully provides." - Michael Zelbel

Congratualations Grand Jury Winner "Power of The Book" by alexmoldovan

"Technically this picture is based on a wonderful layered concept. The blurry sheets of paper in the foreground are framing the scene, while the book pages in the background, while also being blurred, are directing the attention of the viewer towards the model in the middle. This is an excellent and stunning example of creative story telling. Take for example the wind rushing through the hall. Of course we can’t see it visually but we still understand that it is there by seeing all the flying sheets of paper and the flying hair of the model. Furthermore the location, the long library, is a bit mysterious and so is the action of the model as well. Why is she standing on one leg? Why is did the turbulent wind come in? There must be a Harry Potter like kind of magic going on. I’m dying to talk to the photographer of this image and learn about the backstory of this masterpiece." - Michael Zelbel
