Learn the techniques and story behind this awarded photo by danish photographer Lieblingstier-Fotografie. A finalist in the Image Of The Month Photo Contest Vol 24 and a staff favorite, this photo is a great example of pet portraiture. And you can learn how to do it too....

Where did you take this photo?

This photo was taken at a castle in The Netherlands.

Anything worth sharing about lighting?

It was raining but there was some beautiful light from the left and the right. We were standing right below an archway.

What equipment did you use?

I used my Canon 5DMkIII with my lovely EF 24-70/2.8. No other equipment was involved.

What inspired you to take this photo?

I was looking for a place to shoot "urban style".

Did you do any post-processing? If yes, tell us about it!

I used Lightroom to process the Rawfile and then I used Photoshop to create the color / style using the Gradient Map and Curves.

What equipment do you normally have in your bag?

I always carry my Canon 5DMkIII and the best lens ever, my Canon 135mm/2.0.

Any advice for others trying to capture something similar?

Keep your eyes open. There are so many incredible place everywhere.

Sounds simple right?

An awesome camera, and awesome lens, then to Lightroom and then photoshop. Done.... and of course, a loving dog!

Another amazing pet portrait by Lieblingstier-Fotografie.
