Couples fantasize about the perfect session, perfect memory, and the perfect image that captures their unique and endless love. But, getting the perfect smiles and expressions under the spotlight of a couples shoot can be a challenge.  If you're prepared, know your equipment, and are ready to adapt on the fly and embrace change, the results could be spectacular!

1. Getting smiles out of a couple during a stressful situation can backfire

You have managed to convince the couple to act normal, although 'normal' may not always result in smiles.

2. You may have all the right settings set up, but you cannot control it all

Unexpected rain or light may affect the photoshoot, but if you are experienced or lucky enough it may work to your advantage.

3. Too much love can get in the way

Passion and emotions can distract the couple, be ready and be creative!

4. Beware. Spontaneous photos may include unwanted items

People, animals and other subjects can appear in the photo if you do not watch out for the elements that surround the couple or that may show in the background. In some instances (a great example below) can make a good shot even better!
