Behind The Lens

Location

I made this photo of Rosalien in my studio in Velsen-Noord, Netherlands.

Time

It was taken in a photo studio.

Lighting

I'm always experimenting with light setups. I wanted to create a soft lighting for this one.

Equipment

I used a Canon 5DmkIII with a Sigma 85mm lens. f/1.8 - 1/200s - ISO100

Inspiration

This was actually part of a shoot in with big red dress, but I also took some close-up portraits, and this was one of the results.

Editing

I like to work in black and white. The viewer doesn't get distracted by any colors.

In my camera bag

I use a Canon 5DmkIII, but recently I bought the Canon R6. The first one is good, but the R6 is amazing! Especially the Eye-focus is very good for making portraits. You only need to worry about the composition, the camera keeps the eyes tack sharp!

Feedback

Just go and experiment with light, wether it's with flash or natural light, I think you learn best when doing it yourself.
