"Into the Abyss" features a portion of the lower tier falls at Iceland's iconic Gullfoss. The two-tiered falls on the Hvitá River cascade into a canyon cataract. Gullfoss is popular with tourists, with viewing in high season shoulder-to-shoulder. I captured this image on from the cliffs opposite the tourist viewing area. It pays to travel with experts. We drove to the opposite side of the river, hiked a mile to the river's edge, and enjoyed a 'private' view of the falls.
