Behind The Lens

Location

I was walking and wandering one summer's day just taking some snaps with my smart phone near some corn fields . When I wondered what it would be like inside the field instead of looking over the top . I was surprised that it reminded me of a great cathedral roof. with the sun shining through the leaves just like church arches and the stems making the columns . And so the photo was born

Time

I often go wandering around my local area taking photos. This was one summers day around 2pm . The sun was just brilliant , it was an unusually hot and sunny day for the English summers we have been having lately but from under the corn it was cool and very quiet almost like being I my own private church . The leaves were blowing slightly and so offering a gentile wisper . As I only have a smart phone at the moment I do my very best to offer the best view and lighting but I have little control and sometimes it's more luck than judgement .

Lighting

This was a totally natural shot . Natural light I find works best for some great photos . And as a new starter I haven't had much opportunity to mess around with lighting yet .

Equipment

This wasn't took with a bells and whistles top of the range camera . It was took with a Samsung galaxy note 10 . No additional equipment .

Inspiration

As ive said I'm always out on little photo expeditions. When I'm out and about I try to "see a photo " that others may walk by without looking . Maybe I take one low down to ground level to give that worms eye view . Have something in shot to give that extra viewpoint bonus or just look up ^ Most people simply just don't look up . Try it yourself ..Next time your in a city or village simply look up and see things your missing.

Editing

Apart from a simple crop this is exactly how the photo was taken .

In my camera bag

Lol ???? I don't normally have anything in my bag as I don't own a decent camera yet ...but I do like a good chocolate bar to munch on while looking gor the next shot

Feedback

Just don't try to "make" a shot . Look for the ones that are there. Keep things very simple . Sometimes a fantastic photo has very little in it . You don't need fancy gear to take a good photo ! . With a phone ive found you can take photos in some places wherea camera would be difficult to use Above all ..... have fun
