Landscape Photography featuring characteristic architectural details of the Great British Coastline. Taken on the famous and beautiful tiny islet , Llanddwyn Island off Newborough Beach on the Isle of Anglesey , off the north wales Mainland in the UK. I have chosen the title , ' Half Light ', because this seascape taken from the top of the steps of Llanddwyn Lighthouse is a composition that focuses on the contrast of Light and Shadow and on the now unused lighthouse building which is literally a half light as the structure still exists but its guiding light has been removed. The title also relates to the islands use in a 2006 film of the same title starring Demi Moore as the movie , although based in Scotland was chosen as the set , more recognition of the stunning vistas and views that can be seen all across this tiny island. it was also the idyllic retreat of Wales's own version of St. Valentine , St, Dwyran whose day is marked on the 25th January so the point has become a place of romantic pilgrimage for many a couple or honeymooner. the image was taken late on a June evening just before the golden hour from an angled perspective to exentuate the depth of the vista, geometry and magnitude of the building , as well as to increase the intensity of the shadows and blues found in the water and the Snowdonia Mountain range viewed off in the distance.
