I'm pleased you joined my challenge "The November 2020 Collection". Great, thanks, and let's hope it turns all right well for you. The competition is, as ever, very hard! That is this month especially the case, because VB approved the challenge for the gallery and extended the duration. Good luck.

Location
I loved getting this photo because it took only a minute to capture while walking in town. I saw the rose in a yard. It was a considerable distance away but no match for the long lens I was using. I positioned the camera and shot it from over the owner's wall.Time
This was a morning shot. Although the sun was overhead, the roses were shaded by a wall of the home.Lighting
I really loved the diffused lighting caused by the wall of the house and the enclosed nature of the garden. It created a Hansel & Gretel feel of something precious yet slightly disarming.Equipment
I used a Sony ar7iii with a 200–600mm lens. The wall was used to steady the camera.Inspiration
I was testing out a 200–600mm lens and looking for far away objects on which to focus. I had set out to take some landscape images and noticed the rose en route. The wonderful contrast of the white rose against the dark greenery helped it stand out to the naked eye and was enhanced further once I zoomed in with the lens. The aging-but-soft petals of the rose were a nice counterpoint to the very passed-their-prime buds surrounding it.Editing
I decreased the exposure around the subject and brought back some of the lost highlights and midtones individually using the dodge tool. I also did some lens correction and vignetting. In my camera bag
I always have my Sony a7Riii body and two lenses. My favorite is the Sony FE 24mm f/1.4 prime for it's ability to expand the story around subjects. I also carry a Sony FE 70-200mm f/4 telephoto zoom because a lot of my paid work is shot from a distance. Accessories include a simple light meter, extra battery and charger, remote shutter release, collapsible reflector (tucked inside an exterior panel of my backpack), grey card, and tabletop tripod.Feedback
