Beautiful, well done.
You have given 2020 a positive swing that is really (nice) positive, a contribution to the Year 2020 Collection. As always, the competition will be tough, which, as an added consequence, makes a possible victory taste very sweet. Good luck and probably for the … time: Happy New Year and stay healthy in 2021!

Location
This photo was taken at Hope Mill, while on one of my nature walks. I had not been to Hope Mill in more than 40 years, so I was very excited to capture such a beautiful creature.Time
I crossed the country road and took a picture of the sign for the Hope Mill. I glanced towards the river where the logs are for the mill and there was the Heron. Excited, I crouched down and moved towards the Heron as I adjusted the camera for the desired shot. I stayed still among the tall grass and took this shot at 1:36 PMLighting
This photo was taken in the mid day so the lighting was great and was at my back. I could not have asked for better lighting.Equipment
Sony Alpha 3000 Canon EFS 55-250mm 1/400 sec. f/5.6 250 mmInspiration
Taking pictures of wildlife is a passion of mine. It is very fulfilling, not only experiencing the excitement of taking the pictures but sharing the beauty of nature.Editing
I cropped out some of the background to focus on the subject. In my camera bag
I always pack my Sony Alpha 3000 body, I like the features and it fit the lenses I like. I pack my Canon 28-90mm lens for a wide angle shot and my Canon EFS 55-250mm lens for the close ups. I carry extra lens caps and a body cap. I have a battery charger packed with the car adapter in case I need to charge on the go. A lens cleaning kit is always packed. A rain hood for the gear bag in case of unexpected rain, to keep my gear dry.Feedback
When trying to capture a Heron, being quiet and still is key. Making fast movements or loud noises will scare the Heron away. When approaching areas where there may be this type of wildlife, make sure you approach slowly. Stop and listen. Crouch down and slowly move toward the area. Be patient.
