I had previously uploaded this photo with a brush filter making it appear more like a painting. That is how I printed it and now hangs on my wall. A VB member asked to see the original photo so I have posted it here free of any filters.

This photo was taken on a ranch in northern Idaho.Time
I took this photo in the morning when the ranch owner called the herd of 50+ horses for breakfast. First we saw the dust cloud, then 50+ horses appeared on the opposing hilltop. They galloped down the hill, across a bottom meadow heading towards the open gate at the road. They turned down the road and followed that until they turned to head up the hill on the ranch driveway to their holding pens and grain!Lighting
It was actually a normal morning about an hour after sunrise. I can't really say there was anything special about it other than not being harsh. It was the subject matter that made this photo special to me.Equipment
I shot this handheld using my Nikon D750 camera and 80-400 MM lens.Inspiration
50+ galloping horses and dust. How could I not take a photo!Editing
Cropping and adjustments for lighting, detail and contrast. In my camera bag
I always have my Nikon D750 camera, a Nikkor 28-300 MM lens and an extra battery. Depending on what I am heading out to shoot determines what other equipment I might take and if I would add a tripod to the mix.Feedback
Head to the Western Pleasure Ranch in northern Idaho. Breakfast call happens every morning! It is amazing to see this tiny woman call from the opposing hillside with not a horse in sight. A minute after her call you will see the dust cloud first and then the horses will begin to appear on the horizon and head towards that call. Amazing.
