This photo was taken at De AfsluitDijk, a historic motorway built in the 1930s guarding the country of netherlands from the floods of the North sea. This is one of the many docks built and I took my new drone to see it form a birds eye perspective.Time
This was a random plan after work that we decided to drive there from Amsterdam. As it was a summer evening which has longer duration of light we could reach there in time and i decided to fly my drone to see this magnficent engineering marvel. The dying sunlight was not harsh and made the structure well illuminatedLighting
As you can see the shadows on this, so it was the perfect time before sunset where the dying lights of sun was creating a giant shadow of the monument nearby, The lights and shadows have contributed to make this frame really specialEquipment
I used my new drone DJI Mavic Mini, which is a tiny powerhouse for aerial videos and photos.Inspiration
I always look for compositional principles in the photo. The Exact Inverted T structure right in the middle of the frame, Diagonal Shadows and the Green color of the lake with mild currents made this magical frame.Editing
I enhanced the color and made the ramp of the dock a bit clear to act as main subject. In my camera bag
I have a GoPro Silver3, Oneplus 6, Canon 80D, DJI Mavic Mini, Canon 18-135 lens, Canon 50mm prime lens, Canon 55-350mm lens, and Joby Gorillapod too.Feedback
Drone photography brings in a whole new perspective to human imaginations. We only see the 2Dimensional plane but as soon as we go up the surface things are different, symmetrical or any random geometrical figure. Always experiment on the Top Down view or Revealing of the subject from distance. Thank God for drones its now possible to imagine and capture these unique perspectives anywhere.
