Behind The Lens

Location

I took this at Kingston Lacey in Dorset which is part of the National Trust un the UK.

Time

This was early afternoon and it was tipping it down with rain which didn't make it easy.

Lighting

the weather was very dark and gloomy at the time so it was hard to get the lighting i wanted as i wanted to really emphasise the highlights on the models body.

Equipment

I used the first camera i ever bought which was the Cannon 550D with the standard lens which I love.

Inspiration

I have a passion for dance and photography so I wanted to combine the two in a unique way not just do something in a studio. I wanted the model to be at one with nature and get a really raw image.

Editing

I did very little I don't like to edit my images too much if i don't have to I simply just changed it to black and white. I find you don't always have make photography so complex and think you have to do so many things to make it a fancy image. Its just about you and the camera and getting and image you love.

In my camera bag

I will always have a tripod, my cannon 550D with its standard lens and a fisheye lens with a dusting cloth. Oh and a little snack!

Feedback

No matter what you are shooting make sure you are organised, you've planned ahead, your cameras battery is always full and have a spare SD card just in case. Try not to copy other peoples ideas shoot things that will give you an edge on where you got your inspiration from. Depending on what feel you want your images to portray make sure you get the timing right whether its 5am in the morning or 5pm at night this is very important. If you are shooting people make sure their outfits are well planned out so you don't waste time on the day trying to sort it out and miss the opportune time for a shot. Most of all have fun with it! If you're having fun you're more likely to get an image you love.
