The photo was taken at my Sister's home during a "drive by" funeral procession for her son. I love taking candid shots with people and animals. It really captures the "realness" of the moment.Time
It was late afternoon, around 3 or 4 PM. There were dark storm clouds and wind.Lighting
It was a stormy cloudy afternoon; I had my camera set up with auto ISO, so it did a good job of adjusting for the light.Equipment
I used a Nikon D750, ISO 450, no flash, f/5. I used a Nikkor28-300 mm lens. I held the camera (no tripod).Inspiration
This little boy was so serious looking, very somber in his mask. It was so cute how his nose poked out above his mask and he just held very still for me to take his picture. I honestly don't know if he was smiling, but I don't think so because of his eyes.Editing
I used Photoshop Elements to enhance the photo and convert it to black and white. I really thought black and white made so much more of a statement with this photo. In my camera bag
I most exclusively take my Nikon D750 with a Nikkor28-300 mm lens. Especially when I'm not sure of the pics I'll be getting (candid). This lens is such a good all-around lens that works for most everything, and it produces high quality pictures.Feedback
I'm still such a novice at photography; learning something new every day. One thing I've learned is patience, whether you are setting up for a shot, or capturing candids.
