Koré - Persefoné - personal project
Innocent Kóré, tearing narcissus flowers, is seduced and raped by the god Hades in a flowering meadow, who passes by with his team and then carries her to the underworld. Her mother, Demeter, searches her in vain all over the country and despairs. Eventually, he reaches an agreement with Hades that Koré will always be able to visit his mother for two-thirds of the year, but then return to the underworld for the rest of the year. The time when Kore is in the underworld supposedly gave rise to the winter, while when Kore is with his mother, everything blooms again and summer reigns.
The first part of the story focuses on the girls' competition for the most beautiful flower.
"Koré, for me, a young, mature girl, is still in the age of innocence before she has a direct initiating experience with a man. I remember seeing Koré in the eyes of those I considered most beautiful during my young years and those who "I remember, the obsession, to pluck a sleepy flower, and to live with the feeling that it will never fade."
