Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at the Cabrillo marine aquarium in San Pedro, California. I used a Samsung galaxy s7 phone on the shot with the natural lighting of the tank in which the fluorescent lighting brought out the colors of the shot.

Time

I shot this inside without a flash using natural lighting and the lights of the tank. It was during the afternoon of summer.

Lighting

I like to use natural lighting before highlighting the colors afterwards. This time the flourecent lighting brought out the natural effervescent colori g of the subject.

Equipment

No fancy equipment was used. At the time I was shooting a galaxy s7 cellphone on auto function. No flash wS used due to the reflect I on off plexiglass. The natural lighting with the tank lighting was enough to focus on the subject.

Inspiration

I've to shoot wildlife a d the colors of the subject attacred me to make the best use possible of the lighting and features of the subject.

Editing

With this photo I let it go natural without offsetting or doing any highlighting or shadong.

In my camera bag

I retired my 35 mm out of inconvenience of impromptu use and began using my cellphone many years ago. With the improvements of cellphone camera and built in editing I have found the cellphone to be an equal tool to use with more ability to take those once in a lifetime shots when they happen right away.

Feedback

My philosophy is shoot a photo every day and to practice in different angles, backgrounds and features of nature and candid people photos.
