Location
It was at Sloan's Lake in the afternoon on 4/20/2020. It was peaceful with few people around during quarantine I wanted to take a few photos as beautiful as the evening was. There were so many geese were around. I loved how the geese looked through the grasses in the lake with the small sitting island and the sunset on the water separating it all. The image as a whole as many layers to it to look at and through captivating you.Time
It was around 7 pm this day. The sunset was so beautiful adding a copious amount of depth to the image.Lighting
This Image is beautifully composed thanks to the lighting. Adding depth to the mountains and clouds in the background to the water separating the empty sitting island and the water ripples from the geese swimming away. It was a beautiful evening to be shared!Equipment
This was shot with a Canon EOS 6D, with a EF100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM Lens. No other equipment was used.Inspiration
Quarantine has kept everyone stir crazy trying to be safe. But, there's still beauty in the silence. I wanted to capture an image on my short stroll capturing this thought.Editing
For this image I needed to fix the sky. In the original image the clouds in the sky were slightly blown out. I adjusted the Image in Adobe Lightroom Classic to lighten the blown out part in the clouds to add separation. Then adjusted the white balance to the sunset colors. In my camera bag
My camera equipment is fairly new to me still! I had just moved to Colorado last November to better peruse my career as an artist and photographer. My last camera a Canon EOS 60D died right before my venture. I purchased new equipment in December. I currently have a Canon EOS 6D Body, EF100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM Lens, Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM Lens and a Canon EF 70-200mm 1:4 L USM Lens.Feedback
You never know when, "the right moment" will happen. I try to always bee prepared and have my equipment with me.
