Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in Cannon Hill Park, Birmingham on a stroll. I am very fond of squirrels and was captivated by this inquisitive fella.

Time

I took this pleasant image mid afternoon on a lazy Sunday.

Lighting

As a self-taught photographer I trust my instincts, there was plenty of natural light to make this photo work.

Equipment

I used my Sony camera with 30x optimal zoom, hand held with no accessories.

Inspiration

My love of wildlife and squirrels in particular inspired me to take this photo. I was keen to capture them in as natural way possible. Doing what they do best.

Editing

I didn’t do any post-processing. I wanted to ensure total authenticity in line with my objective of capturing squirrels in a totally natural way.

In my camera bag

I travel light normally just the basics. For me the inspiration, imagination and location are as important as the equipment.

Feedback

Capturing squirrels like this unless you strike it lucky requires quiet and patience.
