Won derail.
You have given the rather negative year 2020 a swing that is really (nice) positive: a contribution to the Year 2020 Collection. As always, the competition will be tough, which, as an added consequence, makes the victory taste very sweet. Good luck.

Location
Passing by David's house and barn I stopped to visit awhile with the owner of many interesting vehicles. This beautiful Maine Coon cat, Farley, appeared in the barn and looked at me inquisitively. Farley posed nicely for a few shots and then moved on to locate mice or other creatures.Time
It was early evening (winter sun probably around 4PM), on January 8th of 2020. We did not yet know the significance of what 2020 would bring. The light was low, the settings were: ISO 400, 1/13th sec, f/5, 99mm (EF24-105mm f/4L IS USM), handheld.Lighting
It was very low light, I was shooting into a dark barn, there was no extra lighting available and I had to shoot quickly. Most cats don't stick around for their portraits to be taken.Equipment
Canon t5i, EF 24-105mm f/4 IS USM lens at 99mm No tripod No flash pure luck at 1/13th secInspiration
David has interesting stuff at his house. I am always looking to see what is available. There was Farley! A handsome cat for sure. What other inspiration could I need?Editing
Post processed in LR Classic. I increased highlights, decreased shadows, fixed both white and black clipping, added texture and clarity, decreased highlight tones, sharpened to +39, smoothed luminance, removed chromatic aberration and enabled lens profile, lowered light tones and dark tones. In PS I added a thin white border. If I were to do this over... and I just might do this... I might explore cropping out the beam at the bottom of the photo. In my camera bag
Camera manual. Lens cleaning items. Candy bar. Extra batteries. Remote shutter release equipment. 100mm macro lens. 50mm lens. My go-to lens is the 24-105mm. Flash diffuser. Money.Feedback
Always have a camera with you in case you see something interesting. And, by golly, everything is interesting much to the chagrin of my spouse. Be aware of animals and look for a different point of view. In this case, Farley was about 12'-14' overhead which accentuated his regal pose.
