Location
This photo was taken at a creek hidden off the side off the road where I live.Time
I took this photo right at sunset because the light likes to glow behind the trees.Lighting
We had other shots planned that day, so this was taken with the last bit of available light.Equipment
Canon EOS 5D Mark IV, 24-105mm IS lens, and smoke bombs. Lots of smoke bombs!Inspiration
I draw a lot of my inspiration from music. The song that inspired it is called “The Violence”.Editing
Yes, I used Photoshop to define the shadows, and color correct the smoke as some of the colors tend to get lost when it’s really hazy.In my camera bag
One of my three Canons, and I keep my 24-105mm, 100-300mm, or 17-44mm lenses on me at all times.Feedback
If you get smoke bombs/wands test them out first. Especially the day of the shoot so you can study how they’re going to move with current weather conditions. Finally, patience! Even if you don’t think an image is “the one” edit it anyway. You might be surprised at the outcome.
