Location
This photo was taken at my local skatepark that i grew up going to everyday when i was a teenager.Time
South Jordan skatepark in the early afternoon has great lighting for photos and creates some amazing shadows from the very steep bowl that they have.Lighting
This shot was all natural light. I wanted to do a black and white photo and have some shadow play to help create a beautiful natural contrast between the dark and light part of the imageEquipment
This was taken with my Canon 1d mark iii and a 10-15 mm fish eye lense. It was an interesting photo to take because getting in this location meant i was in the way of the skater as he rolled away down the ramp so i had to move very quickly after the shutter button was pressedInspiration
Skateboarding has been a huge part of my life since i was a baby. I love skateboarding and love capturing photos of my friends doing the thing that has always amazed me. One thing that i always try to do with skateboard photos is think in a way to frame the photo like its a piece of art. My mom always used to watch me and my brother and friends skate and she said she enjoyed watching because to her it was an art form that she could enjoy.Editing
Yes i used Lightroom to adjust the framing a bit to straighten the photo and also processed it to be black and white. Darken the shadows and bring up the highlightsIn my camera bag
I Always have 2 camera bodies in my bag my 1d mark iii and my eos rp. My rp is more my portrait and lifestyle camera. and the 1d i use for the fast FPS.Feedback
