Behind The Lens
Location
This picture was taken at "centennial park" Sydney.Time
Late afternoonLighting
I just completed a 10 days trip near the Chinese border, it was raining and overcast for most of the times. Not ideal but hey am there and i can't change the weather, so i shoot as best as i can and work on fixing skies later in post.Equipment
Sony Alpha 6500 with Sony lens .Inspiration
when in Sydney i visit "centennial park " most non rainy days. Its a refuge for me from the stress of living in a large city. Cockatoos gather by the hundreds in the evening flying from trees to trees .Editing
I only shoot in Raw format so my pictures are post processed in most cases. As a tool i use Luminar a stand alone program by Skylum. In my camera bag
For short day trips usually one lens either a Sigma lens or a Sony lens, whatever lens i think i need for what i want to shoot. In the picture above a Sony 50mm to 200 mm. Additional spare batteries just in case. For Longer trips 2 lenses a Sigma 16mm and my Sony zoom lens. Additional batteries and charger.Feedback
Thanks to the advance in technology in photo editing software i don't worry too much about settings like white balance. This can be fixed later. My aim for each picture is to get them as focus as i can I only shoot manual. If a picture is out of focus i delete it . Some composition rules are observed and fine tuned in Luminar. When i have the luxury of times on that shooting day i may takes many shots of same picture and keeps what i think is the best one then start editing. I do mostly "street photography" . I go some place, see something which attract my eyes and shoot. These days am based in South Vietnam, i go for long bike rides and try to capture whatever is happening around me. For some reasons its the old and rusty staff that seems to attract my attention. Capturing the "old "before it totally disappears. Its all trial and errors and i try to learn from my mistakes. I do get inspired by others Photographers if am stuck for creativity. Sites like Viewbug are a source of inspiration to me. Having fun in the process makes my photography hobby a lot easier.
