Behind The Lens

Location

I decided to be a bit spontaneous one morning, so I woke up my friend at 6am, told her to grab a dress, we're going on a road trip. I drove 5 hours towards Marfa, TX to the Monahan Sandhills.

Time

We arrived at the sandhills around 3pm. I usually prefer golden hour lighting but I loved how her dress stood out against the bright blue midday sky.

Lighting

I worked with the natural lighting of the day.

Equipment

I just brought my Canon 5D Mark 3 and my 24-70mm lens.

Inspiration

Inspiration sometimes come from the unexpected. A spontaneous road trip became a beautiful moment to capture a friend.

Editing

I did very little post-processing besides adjusting tone and contrast.

In my camera bag

I'm usually a minimalist. I like to use what I have and try to go with the flow as much as possible.

Feedback

The best way to be inspired is to put yourself in a situation that allows for those moments to be captured. Make random trips, grab your camera and just shoot. Sometimes the best shots are the ones that just come to you.
