Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken whilst I was standing at the end of my street. Our street is a dead end and it’s perfect to take photos and not have to worry about traffic.

Time

It was at night. I had just come home and thought the light reflections In the road were amazing. I wanted to capture them.

Lighting

It was a very spur of the moment decision to take the photo.

Equipment

An iPhone 8 Plus and then editing was done using Snapseed.

Inspiration

I was in Noir type of mood. I wanted to create a very moody piece that accentuated the shadows and light.

Editing

Just tweaking the contrast and blacks.

In my camera bag

An iPhone, Nikon D3100 DSLR, FujiFilm Finepix point and shoot, Canon Power Shot point and shoot.

Feedback

Rainy nights are perfect for nighttime because of light reflections off of puddles. Be careful not to overexpose the image, though. Use tree branches or road sign to create shadows and silhouettes.
