One of the best places in the island of Gran Canaria to enjoy of one of the best sunsets in this beutifull island. The photo was taken in "Cruz de Tejeda" a very little village in Gran Canaria, one of the highest places on the island. Where you can see all tha island and the highest mountain of Spain, "El Teide" in Tenerife.Time
I took this photo in February. After touring all day around the center of the island. We arrived at this beautiful place on the 02/03/2019 at 19:30, just at the magic hour for all landscape photographers, the golden hour at sunset. We decided to go to the side of the mountain. When I saw a perfect ray of sun that was projected throughout the landscape. I do not know why this phenomenon was caused or how long it would last. So I taken quickly my camera and shoot in bracketing mode to grnerate later a HDR.Lighting
I tried to take all the misty atmosphere of the landscape on the image. The colours of the sunset, the fog and the mystery sun ray that appeared in the sky. To show the deep of the landscape i try to pley with the warm and the cold colours.Equipment
I used a Sony a6000 with a 18-50 mm lens. I hadn't got time to take my tripod so i used my knee to stabilize the camera.Inspiration
That sun ray talked to me. Thats it. So i took the camera and tried to find the best place to take it. It was one of those photos that you see clrearly in your eye.Editing
I used the HDR proces. I took three images, one normal, other sub-exposed and the last over-exposed. Later you fuse the three photos, in that case, in one. I use Lightroom to do that proces. I really love the HDR photos for the landscapes. Is the perfect process to captur all the information of the shadows and lights and later proces the result in Photoshop to get the most realistic photo. In my camera bag
The first thing that i allways have in my bag is one of my Sony cameras. The a6000 or the a7. I haven't got money to buy lenses. So i use the lens that comes with the camera the day that i buyed it. Later i bring allways with me one of my tripods. It depends of the bag i wear to take the big one or the smaller ones. And the last thing i allways have with me is cleener for the lenses.Feedback
The best advice is knowledge. be prepared to choose at the moment, the best way to bring the image you are seeing in your eyes to your viewers. You never stop learning, so you need to stay active. You need to read books, know new photographers, see the work of the others. Just, be active and grow.
