This photo was taken at Brooks Falls, Katmai, Alaska.Time
This photo was taken at 14.57 pm on July 21st 2018.Lighting
It was a sunny day and a blue sky. Brooks falls has trees on either side which block some of the light and you have light reflecting off the water which can be a problem.Equipment
A Nikon D750 with a Nikon F5.6 200-500mm lens ,a monopodInspiration
I have always wanted to photograph Bears in the wild and went to Alaska to Brooks Falls, Hallo Bay and Lake Clarke . I got the shots i wanted and loads more and had an unforgettable trip.Editing
I'm not into doing loads of post process. This shot was not cropped at all.Basic adjustments of contrast,Highlights, saturation ,shadows and sharpening. No objects removed or added to the image. In my camera bag
I normally have my Nikon F4 300 mm, F5.6 200-500 mm(my go to lens) and a Nikon 3.5-5.6 18-200 mm ( for landscapes). A D750 and a D7100 body. A monopod and Rain cape.Feedback
Go to Alaska , it's a truly beautiful unspoilt wilderness and a great place to see bears in the wild. The light there is clear and free of dust and pollution and a photographer's heaven. Bear viewing is expensive BUT worth every penny in my opinion.A mind blowing experience with nature.
