Beautiful! The blue tonality is really the colour of Chefchauen - une des plus belles villes du monde pour moi! The dog is really \"sweet\"!😊

Location
This photo was taken in the Medina of Chefchaouen, the Blue Pearl of Morocco. Chefchaouen is located in the Rif Mountains of northern Morocco. It has steep staircases and is best known for its colourful buildings painted in shades of blue.Time
This shot was taken during the late afternoon. The city itself was bustling despite the extreme heat, which is why I was attracted to the juxtaposition of this dog sleeping on the stairs.Lighting
There was no direct sunlight in this shot as the dog was escaping the heat by taking a nap in the shade. Fortunately, the stairs and the walls had some light reflection and contrast to offer against the dark body of the dog.Equipment
Canon EOS Rebel SL1 (Great camera for travelling!). Aperture f/8, ISO 100, Shutter Speed 1/160, Focal Length 55mm.Inspiration
I was taking shots of the blue-painted architecture and the many staircases in the maze-like city of Chefchaouen. I was surprised that this young dog found a quiet place in the shade to have his afternoon nap. I titled it “Let Sleeping Dogs Lie”.Editing
No, actually the shot required very little post processing. I performed some minor tweaks to the contrast in Photoshop. In my camera bag
For street photography I like to travel light, and do not like to attract attention to myself when travelling on my own. I carry my gear in a self-designed pack that is quite discreet. I bring my Canon EOS Rebel SL1 camera and use an EF-S 18-55mm lens by default. I also carry either an EF-S 10-18mm lens for wide angle shots or an EF-S 55-250mm lens for telephoto zoom shots, depending on the environment. Needless to say I always have an extra charged battery and several spare memory cards in my pack. I don’t usually carry a tripod for street photography.Feedback
Street photography is not often a planned photo shoot, but rather a spontaneous, sometimes unintentional one. I try to anticipate the settings needed on my camera (faster shutter speed, smaller aperture, higher ISO) given the lighting, weather and likely subject matter. Then I can focus quickly on composition to capture the drama of the shot.
