Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken in Victoria Square, Hull City Centre on the 23rd March 2017, this art installation commemorates the British and Commonwealth soldiers who lost their lives in the First World War.

Time

This was around 6 pm, very cold & very moving.

Lighting

I went early evening as I wanted the image to have a dark background to show off the installation.

Equipment

I actually took this on my iPhone if I remember correctly, if not then it would have been my Nikon Coolpix L820

Inspiration

I wanted to get a shot of the installation before the crowds gathered the following day. Luckily I was right in doing so as the installation attracted thousands of visitors over the following weeks. I found it very moving & emotional to photograph.

Editing

I only cropped the image slightly as some people were in the shot to the left.

In my camera bag

Coolpix L820 & iPhone, batteries, that's it!

Feedback

Take lots of shots & enjoy it.
