Location
This is a destination for many photographer who love photographing Old mills. Mabry Mill located on the Blue Ridge Pkwy, in Virginia is one of the most picturesque places along the Parkway, especially with spring and summer blooms. The sights and sounds of Rural Appalachia fill the air at Mabry Mill during summer and fall.Time
Our trip down the Blue Ridge parkway had taken us down to Mabry mill where we had stayed overnight in the town of Floyd. I had gotten up early that morning so I could get to the mill at sunrise. It was a beautiful morning and this is one of my photos of this mill I had taken.Lighting
For me trying to catch this mill I wanted to get the early morning light to get the morning glow.Equipment

I've always love photographing old structures like Covered bridges, historic houses, and of course Old mills. I had seen many photos of this old mill and decided I had to plan a trip down the Blue Ridge parkway to see the beautiful area in it's Autumn splendor but all I had to do was convince the wife. My dream to photograph this mill came true!Editing
I use Lightroom and do some post processing there. In my camera bag
I always bring a tripod whether I'll need or not because it's better to be safe then sorry. In my bag I have a Canon 80D, and my old 70D as a backup, The lens I use the most in my Tamron 16-300 because it very versatile, I also have a Canon 11-16 wide angle when needed and a Canon100MM macro lens. Lens wipes is always a must to have along brushes for keeping the camera clean.Feedback
I always do a lot of research before I take a trip so my advice would be to plan early and do a lot of research of what you want to photograph before you go.
