Location

This photo was taken in the Millwork District of downtown Dubuque, Iowa. The Millwork is the perfect location for urban/ industrial photos. The area offers a variety of colors, vibes, and privacy for intimate engagement photos or personalized family shots

Time

Early evening.

Lighting

Sometimes the heat of summer doesn't and bright light of the sub makes capturing the subjects just right. The shadows cast by the building offers enough cover to get exactly what you're envisioning.

Equipment

Canon 80D with a Canon 50mm f1.8.

Inspiration

A hometown shoot for a high school friend and his sweet fiance. The two are on to bigger and better things. This photo represents where they have come from but also serves as a reminder of where they are going.

Editing

Minimal post-processing. A preset from Kelsey Freeman Photography (love her work and presets) applied through Lightroom 4.

In my camera bag

Exactly what I used here, Canon 80D, 50mm f1.8. I purchased these items off consignment during a close out sale of a local photography store. I'm a hobby photographer and can't afford much more. It's just enough to do the job and share with others.
