Framed my daughter in a close up of a fallen autumn leaf

Magnificent view of the LDS Salt Lake Temple

Enjoyed a nice stroll up Green Canyon and caught the sun glowing on the trees and fence.

Waiting for the soccer game to begin, I caught this splendid shot of my daughter in a pink jacket

Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo on the grounds of the Logan Utah Temple. They have amazing flowers from early spring to fall.

Time

I was taking a walk to get some fresh air when I took this on a hot summer day in June at 3:28 PM.

Lighting

The bight sun is usually not great for lighting, but I was able to get under the flower to shade the sun and get a little bit of glow for it.

Equipment

I took this photo with my Canon EOS REBEL SL1 with a 18-55mm lens. No other equipment was used. ƒ/5.6 1/1000 55mm ISO100

Inspiration

My local community does a photography contest each summer and I was searching for a beautiful shot to share in the contest. My go-to location is the Logan Temple because it is close and it has such amazing flowers.

Editing

I made some minor adjustments in Google Photos to add some additional filtering. Modena filter Minimum Contrast Minimum Highlights Decrease amount of Shadows Increase White Minimal Blacks Small Vignette Small Pop

In my camera bag

I am a hobby photographer with the basic Canon Lens kit. I carry all my lenses with me. I use the Canon Canon EOS REBEL SL1. 18-55mm STM 40mm 2.8 f/s STM 50mm 1.8 f/s STM Zoom lens EF 75-300mm 5.6 f/s I also carry little knick-knacks and props, little toys and things I find to add to the photo walks.
