Location
I took this picture from the end of Clacton pier during the 2018 Clacton airshow.Time
A part of the 2 day event is a small display at twilight on just 1 of the days featuring just 3 or 4 acts which have been especially fitted with fireworks. The firefly's displayed around 8pmLighting
Obviously at the pier end ,there is not too much light pollution and no flash was used to help the fireworks stand out more.Equipment
I had a Canon 5d MK2 fitted with a Sigma 400mm lens. No flash and hand held using the tripod mount as a grip.Inspiration
My first time to the evening event, despite living only 10 miles away. I wasn't sure what to expect, but was amazed at the display. I am even more amazed at the pics and have entered it into our company photo competition.Editing
I don't own anything like Photoshop etc, so just did some minor cropping to make the image fit betterIn my camera bag
I only have 3 lenses, canon, 18-40mm LSeries, 28-105mm and a Sigma 120-400 mm. Spare battery, some filters and some little pocket guides, coz I don't really know what I'm doing.Feedback
Don't waste time and battery on distant shots, which ultimately are not going to be that great with this equipment. Focus on near passes and take take plenty, even if similar as surprisingly few with give you the result you want
