Behind The Lens

Location

A local farm museum here in Latah County Idaho was having an open house and fund raiser with the helps of a number of local groups. One group was the Washington State University Raptor club who had brought a Great Horned Owl that could not be released back into the wild.

Time

This was taken mid afternoon.

Lighting

It was a nice day and I went with natural light for the photograph.

Equipment

I took this photo with my Canon Rebel T3i using a Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II lens.

Inspiration

Since my first digital camera I am always looking for interesting subjects to photograph. I used to volunteer at a wildlife rehab when I was in high school and the chance to photograph an owl like the ones I took care of back then was a great opportunity. The owl has been

Editing

The only post-processing I did with this photo was adjust the white balance and a bit of color enhancement.

In my camera bag

I currently have my Rebel with the kit lenses that came with it. I also have a Canon Powershot SX530 HS and a very good camera in my Samsung phone.

Feedback

Have a camera handy where ever you go. If I don't have my Canon cameras I always have the camera on my Samsung Galaxy G7 phone for those unexpected photo opportunities.
