Behind The Lens
Location
Evergreen lake near Hudson Illinois.Time
Midmorning, the roads were also covered in ice and I waned to give road crews to have more time to cover the roads. I've always thought bad weather can give great photos.Lighting
I loved the bright light that gave wonderful reflections and highlights.Equipment
Equipment I used for this shot, a Nikon D300 with a Tokina 10=17 lens.Inspiration
I loved the pattern and how it receded. The Tokina lens best conveyed that view.Editing
I used lightroom to adjust the highlighted areas and sharpness. Little else was needed. In my camera bag
I also have on hand the 18=200VR with extra batteries and although not in my bag I use an Induro tripod with a Markins ball headFeedback
Be open to the possibilities of a different view point. Change the height of your tripod, standing height is not always the best. Look for patterns all around you, nature is full of them.
