I love the flourescent tree!
Do you think having both tree and yoga posers makes it a bit busy and less focused?

@notinconceivable Yes I think they detract from the surreal ambiance of the photograph.

Location
This photo was taken at White Pocket in Arizona.Time
This is taken about 1.5 hours after sunset with a little bit of blue hour left, dark enough to do the light painting.Lighting
The light was placed by me with some flashlights. I triggered the camera with a remote from behind the tree, then I ran around the rocks to light them up from low angles to get the nice texture.Equipment
For that photo, I used a Canon 5D placed in front of this little water puddle to get the reflection. The light was placed by me coming from some LED Lenser flashlights and a Lume CubeInspiration
A few years ago I saw this tree in some Instagram feed and I knew right away that I wanted to take my own shot at night at this amazing tree. Fun fact: the first time I went to White Pocket I was so amazed at the landscape I did not see the tree. Only on my second trip I found the tree and focused on that.Editing
There is almost no post edit done on this one. I take huge pride in not using Photoshop for my photographs. If any, I run through a 30 seconds Lightroom adjustment or color, denoise, and crop.In my camera bag
At any time I have of course my camera with a LAOWA 12mm F2.8 and at least 5 different flashlights. That way I can do at least some minimal Light Painting where ever I will go.Feedback
Well, it's all about fun. Just try to start with F8, ISO 100, and see how long the exposure takes then start with a flashlight to make it more interesting. Play around with the settings and see how long you can expose the camera before it overexposes then you know how much time you have to run around and place your light. It works just like dodge and burn but now you actually run around and place the light where actually walk. The advantage here is that you have less noise in your long exposures.
